What is case sensitive?

You've probably come across the word many times: case sensitive. The Dutch translation for this word is case sensitive. Often you see this term used with passwords. If a password is case sensitive, then passwords like 'WachtWoord123' and 'password123' for a website are not the same. A case-sensitive password distinguishes between a normal letter ('lowercase') and an uppercase letter ('uppercase').

Case Sensitive in the Clonable back-end

When setting up a clone, you will also encounter 'case sensitive'. Among other things, in the 'substitution rules' you can check 'case insensitive'. If you check this, Clonable will replace every match with your fill of 'original' without paying attention to capitalization.

If you check this, and want to replace 'Red' with 'blue', both 'Red' and 'rOoD' will be replaced. 'Blue' will appear instead. The 'Replacement' will be placed as you entered it. If you turn off'case insensitive' on the other hand, Clonable will look for matches that are also case-sensitive. If you enter 'Red' under 'original', only 'Red' will be replaced. Words like 'rOod', 'RooD', etc, will remain in the Clone.

SEO case sensitive?

Perhaps you regularly deal with Search Engine Optimization; SEO. Is SEO case sensitive? In short, SEO isnot case sensitive. Google does not factor differences in capitalization into SEO rankings. Any customer searching for "slippers" will also come across websites with "Slippers. However, it is advisable to use capital letters as correctly as possible. This gives a good impression of your brand. A website that uses capital letters inconsistently and incorrectly is more likely to be seen as unprofessional and unreliable.

URL case sensitive?

Another question might be: are URLs case-sensitive? Again, URLs are not case-sensitive. 'Website123/blog' and 'Website123/BLOG' end up on the same page.
